DESCRIPTION:Kelvin at the Kibble is an exhibition by the Kelvin Biodiversity Network (KBN) which celebrates the River Kelvin. \nThis year\, the exhibition focuses on how ‘The Kelvin Makes You Feel Good!’ The gathered groups and organisations (see below) who care for the river and its surroundings will consider how the river makes us feel good and how getting out in local nature contributes to our health and wellbeing. \nSaturday 18 May 2024 is ‘Fascination of Plants Day’ where University of Glasgow’s Mike Blatt\, Professor of Molecular Biology will host a small engagement event on the subject. \nConfirmed stall holders\, which includes ourselves\, you can meet and chat with are: \n\nFroglife\nFriends of the the Earth Glasgow\nFriends of the River Kelvin\nYorkhill Green Spaces\nPhotoscot / Scottish Wildlife Trust\nThe Conservation Volunteers\nClyde Amphibian and Reptile Group\nGALLANT\nGlasgow Natural History Society with Glasgow Museums\nRoyal Society for Protection of Birds Scotland\nChildren’s Wood\nThe Friends of the Glasgow Botanic Gardens

DESCRIPTION:Glasgow Botanic Gardens is part of the BBC Stargazing Live Discovery Night. The free event at the Botanic Gardens and the Auditorium in Oran Mor runs from 4.30pm until 9.00 pm on Wednesday 9 January 2013. Visitors will be able to take part in a variety of activities aimed at families and those with a keener interest in astronomy. There will be mini robot and comet making demonstrations on site and the chance for children to build a model of the solar system to take home. Experts will be talking about supernovae and space travel as well as offering Stargazing sessions outside in the Gardens.
