DESCRIPTION:We are a group of full and part time dealers and online sellers\, selling a wide variety of second hand\, vintage and antiquarian books as well as prints\, maps and other paper ephemera. \nWe promote a friendly family atmosphere where people can browse at leisure in a comfortable environment. \nThe Botanic Gardens provides us with a venue to collectively display our wares. The venue is  wheelchair accessible\, buggies are welcome and we are dog friendly. \nThe Book Fair is located in The Hopkirk Building behind the main range\, please follow the signs.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the monthly series of meetings\, this month the Friends of Glasgow Botanic Gardens play host to Dr Alan Elliott\, research associate from Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. \nAlan’s doctoral studies centered on the bio-geography of Meconopsis and in this talk he expands on this topic to cover the collection and propagation of this iconic genus. \nAlan will outline plans to start collecting seed to grow specimens for Glasgow Botanic Gardens. \nAlso covered will be Alan’s recent field work\, contributing to the Flora of Nepal. This work was part-funded by the Friends of Glasgow Botanic Gardens
