by Jane Butterworth, Head Gardener for Glasgow Flower Gardens
Creating a community space that is teeming with wildlife isn’t only about getting the planting and management right. It’s also about other creative endeavours. This month, we have collaborated on some sign making to help spread awareness of GFG and to tell others a bit about what we do and where
our plots are. The tulips on our rainbow plot are a real splash of colour this year, adding a touch of elegance to our late spring border as you end your walk along the path from the Glasshouses up the hill. Did you know that in 1634, tulips were so sought after that people traded all sorts of things for the bulbs, from houses and businesses to ships? Fancy that!
GFG is appealing for gardeners and session leaders – please get in touch if you’re interested!
Hope to see you in amongst the flowers!
