Bat Walk (member event)
16 September @ 19:30 – 21:30
We are delighted to again be able to offer members the opportunity to take part in an exclusive Bat Walk in the Botanic Gardens.
We have two possible dates for you so please specify which you would like to attend:
Dates for the Bat Walk: evening of Wednesday 16th or Friday 18th of September.
As before, Alexandra Jackson, our Countryside Ranger, will lead this and if you came on one of the previous walks along the River Kelvin you will remember how very well informed she is on all things bird or beast or plant. The bats emerge at dusk, which should be around 8.30 to 9pm. Alexandra will provide the group with bat detectors to hear the echolocation. All you would be required to do is wear sensible footwear, warm clothes, and preferably to bring a torch.
Numbers will be limited to 20. Further details will be emailed to the successful applicants by Monday 7th September. But it is expected that the group will meet at 7.30 at the Main Gate (corner with GWR) to check the numbers and hand out echolocators then start the walk at 8pm and finish at 9.30.
Apply by email to secretary[at]glasgowbotanicgardens.com.
