Bard in the Botanics: “The Comedy of Errors”
Directed by Gordon Barr
“I to the world am like a drop of water
That in the ocean seeks another drop”
Ephesus hates Syracuse! They hate them so much that any Syracusian found on Ephesus soil will be condemned to death. In to this highly charged atmosphere come Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, Dromio, searching for their long lost twins.
Unbeknownst to them, they’ve come to just the right place and so the stage is set for a hilarious tale of mistaken identity, assumed personas and wild mishaps as a family scattered by fortune search for reconciliation and a happy ending.
Set in a country that might just feel familiar to some of our local audiences, Bard in the Botanics is delighted to launch the “What We May Be” season with a sparkling new production of this most riotous of comedies.
