Tour Guide Volunteers

The Friends of the Glasgow Botanic Gardens are planning to start public tours of the Botanics in July. The aim is to raise awareness of the fascinating plant collections, conservation work and history of the Gardens and also to help raise funds for its continuing growth and maintenance.

We are looking for Guides. Would you be interested?

Our first training programme will run on Thursday mornings through May and July, from May 18th – July 6th. The mornings will consist of a talk and discussion, refreshments, followed by a walk round part of the Gardens with an expert. It will be a great way to meet Botanics staff, learn about many aspects ofthe Botanics, how it works and lots about plants, trees, special collections, ecology, etc.!
Enthusiasm and curiosity are the main requirements! We will give you a good grounding and you can keep adding your own discoveries. If you cannot attend all sessions, do not let that stop you as there will be notes and new friends to help share information.
As the programme is starting very soon, please get in touch asap to register interest and we would be delighted if you would spread the word to others you know!
